Yesterday my friends and I went to try this new restaurant everyone is talking about in the city nowadays. The name above is not the real name of the restaurant but it might give a hint. Well, I got to know that one of my favorite singers perform Live there every Tuesday and I really wanted to go and hear him sing and play and also check out this new place. So, I called the restaurant two days before we go and asked if we need to reserve in advance and they confrimed that no we can just show up there anytime.
We went at 7:30 pm and it was crowded and had to wait on the list. I didn’t mind at the begining as I thought it would be like everywhere else in the avenues (10 minutes or something). We stood outside literally in the street in the cold weather for nearly an hour. My friend’s husband got really upset and gave us all the bad looks we could get and I was determined to stay and wait. But when I noticed that a lot of ladies going inside without waiting like us, I had to stand up and see what’s going on. I asked the waiter and he said yes these are the celebrities and today is their day. I got upset as no one told us from the start that it was booked up. I knew they were bloggers and fashionistas but nevertheless, we waited for an hour and instead they could have been honest from the start. The place is so tiny but I didn’t even get the chance to see it from the inside. I didn’t want any problems with my friend and her hubby so we left and had dinner in another restaurant around the corner which turned out to be a nice experience unlike the other one.
Yesterday we celebrated the birthday of my two besties in Kuwait Amal and Ghadeer. Yes they are sisters, not twins, but one was born on the 22nd and the other on 23rd. So we decided to celebrate both yesterday. Our plan was to bring all their friends and surprise them but luck wasn’t our friend this time as all their uncommon friends were out of town unfortunately. However, we weren’t a big number but it turned out perfectly. We surprised them with a limo in front of their house and they weren’t really expecting it at all. So they were thrilled when we showed up in this way. We had a tour in this really beautiful limo which was filled with balloons and juice and had a CD for birthday songs and we sang along and played games. Then we headed back to their place and continued the games and started dancing and then came the gorgeous cake. Oh everything was just perfect and we had fun and so did the birthday girls. Love you Amal and Ghadeer.
Not to go into details of what happened yesterday night in Yarmouk area and not to mention who did what and why? But I just wanna say that Shakshooka group is a family and that no one will stop us and that we will remain and continue as we are healthy organic concept and people demand our products and love it and come every week to purchase them wherever the location is. People can’t wait to have the next challenge to find us as they come along with their families and friends, it’s an environment that suits everyone and full of love and fun and mostly healthy food and a great concept. So, waiting to see you all in our end of month cookout next Friday inshallah. Have a great weekend.
Yesterday Shakshooka Market was held at Shuwaikh Market from 6-8 pm. It was my first time to visit this place and I must say how nice and unique it is. The old doors and fountain and the walls are amazing. You feel like you are in another country. It is so modern with a twist of the past. And there was live music too and this might be because of shakshooka’s event. The owner of Shuwaikh Market visited our booth and bought foul from us then asked us how we liked the place and then he introduced himself as the owner. Very nice of him . We were known as the Egyptian Corner last night as we were offering Egyptian food (foul, om ali, And other stuff). As a whole, I was impressed from both markets. It was a blast by all means; great organization, excellent place, lovely people and lots of good healthy food.
